Yoga retreats in Mallorca: where to go and how to choose one
Mallorca's best yoga retreats are small, seasonal and run by visiting teachers in fincas and boutique hotels. Here is where to look, which part of the island suits you and what to ask before you book.
Placeholder imageThe short answer
The best yoga retreats in Mallorca are small, seasonal weeks run by visiting teachers at rural fincas and boutique hotels, mostly from spring to autumn. Cal Reiet near Santanyí offers daily morning yoga and organic food; Finca Serena in Montuïri hosts retreats and guest classes. Choose by teacher, group size, food and region rather than by photos.
Key takeaways

- Finca Serena in Montuïri, 20 minutes from Palma, offers yoga classes for hotel guests and seasonal retreats.
- April to June and September to October are the most comfortable months; July and August are hot for daytime practice.

Mallorca has no single yoga centre that everyone goes to. The island's best retreats are short, seasonal weeks run by visiting teachers at small rural fincas and boutique hotels, which means the right choice depends on three things: who is teaching, where on the island the house is, and when you go.
Our print guide picked two favourite houses. One of them still thrives; we could no longer confirm the other, so it is not included here. This updated guide keeps the venue that has lasted and adds what we have learned about choosing well.
Why is Mallorca such a good place for a yoga retreat?
Because it combines short flights from most of Europe with a long, mild season and a landscape that suits a slower week. Restored country houses with gardens and terraces make natural practice spaces, the food is built on vegetables, olive oil and fish, and the sea, the mountains and the almond groves are rarely more than a short drive away.
Yoga has also become part of island life well beyond the retreats. Palma has a wide choice of studios and many hotels now offer classes. The United Nations has marked 21 June as the International Day of Yoga since 2015, and yoga itself was added to UNESCO's list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016.
Which yoga retreat venues in Mallorca are worth knowing?
Start with houses that offer yoga every day, not just during an occasional event, and then look at which teachers are booked there for your dates. These are the venues we can recommend today.
Cal Reiet, Santanyí
Cal Reiet is a holistic retreat in a restored manor house on the edge of Santanyí, in the quiet southeast. Morning yoga classes run every day with different teachers, for beginners and experienced students, alongside meditation and wellness treatments. The restaurant follows a food-as-medicine approach, cooking with fresh, organic and locally sourced produce, some of it from its own kitchen garden, and can adapt to intolerances and allergies.
Visiting teachers also hold their own week-long retreats at the house through the year, so check both the house programme and the retreat listings for your dates. Santanyí's Wednesday and Saturday market is a short walk away; our day in Santanyí covers the town and the coves nearby.
Finca Serena, Montuïri
Finca Serena is a rural hotel among vineyards and olive groves in Montuïri, in the centre of the island and about 20 minutes from Palma. Hotel guests can join free yoga sessions on set days each week, and the hotel hosts multi-day yoga and meditation retreats with full board and use of its spa. Dates change each season, so check the current programme before you plan around it.
Aethos Mallorca, southwest coast
Not a yoga retreat in the strict sense, but a calm base if you want to build your own week. The hotel sits above the sea on the southwest coast near Peguera, with an infinity pool facing the water, an indoor spa with saunas, a cold plunge and an indoor pool, and guided hikes. Ask the hotel what movement sessions are on during your stay, and see our hotel selection for other calm bases.

Which part of Mallorca suits which kind of retreat?
Choose the region for what you want to do between classes. The island is small, but each area gives a retreat week a different character.
| Region | Feel | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Southeast (Santanyí, Ses Salines) | Flat farmland, small coves, village markets | Swimming between sessions and a quiet, low-key week |
| Centre (Pla de Mallorca, Montuïri) | Vineyards, olive groves, inland villages | Spring and autumn retreats close to Palma |
| Tramuntana (west and north) | Mountains, terraces, stone villages | Combining yoga with hiking |
| Palma and the southwest | City, marinas, hotels with spas | Drop-in classes plus recovery and treatments |
How do you choose the right yoga retreat in Mallorca?
Book the teacher first and the house second. Most listings show the same pool and the same terrace; what makes the week is the person leading it and how the days are structured. Before you pay a deposit, ask:
- Who is teaching, and in which style? Ask for the teacher's name and training, and whether the style (vinyasa, yin, hatha, restorative) suits your level.
- What does a typical day look like? Look for two sessions a day with real free time between them, not a timetable that fills every hour.
- How big is the group? Smaller groups mean more individual corrections; ask for the maximum number of participants.
- What is the food? Many retreats are vegetarian or plant based; check how they handle allergies and whether wine is served.
- Where do you practise? Ask whether there is a shaded or indoor space, which matters from June to September.
- What is included? Transfers, treatments, excursions and single rooms are often extra.
- What are the cancellation terms? Retreat deposits can become non-refundable well before the start date.
How can you add recovery and movement care to a retreat?
Book a session before or after your week in Palma or Puerto Portals. A retreat is a good moment to look at how you move and recover, and the island now has specialists who do exactly that; our longevity pages collect the ones we trust.

If you would like the island to come to you, we are building our own small retreat programme; see Mallorquissimo retreats for what is coming.
When is the best time for a yoga retreat in Mallorca?
Spring and autumn. From April to June and from September to October, mornings are cool enough for a strong practice, the sea is pleasant by late spring and the island is green or golden rather than parched. July and August are hot, so practice moves to early morning and evening.
Winter is quiet and mild, and some houses close or run a reduced programme, so check before you go. If you want to combine a retreat with good food, our guide to Mallorca's gourmet island is a useful companion.

Questions readers ask
Where is the best place for a yoga retreat in Mallorca?
It depends on what you want between sessions. The southeast around Santanyí suits a quiet week with swimming, the centre suits spring and autumn retreats close to Palma, and the Tramuntana suits yoga combined with hiking. Cal Reiet near Santanyí and Finca Serena in Montuïri both run regular yoga.
When is the best time for a yoga retreat in Mallorca?
April to June and September to October. Temperatures suit daytime practice and the island is quieter than in high summer. July and August are hot, so sessions move to early morning and evening.
Are Mallorca yoga retreats suitable for beginners?
Many are. Cal Reiet's daily morning classes are open to beginners and experienced students, and most retreat listings state the level. Ask the teacher before booking whether the style and pace suit someone new to yoga.
How long should a yoga retreat in Mallorca be?
Most retreats on the island run from three nights to a week. A long weekend gives you a reset; a full week leaves time to settle into the rhythm and to see the island between sessions.
