Cala Mondragó/Platja S’Amarador/Cala Mesquida
Near Santanyi: Carretera Palma-Portopetro to Alquería Blanca, then follow signs.
Three beautiful interconnecting bays in the middle of the Parque Natural de Mondragó nature reserve; 5 minute walk through a pine forest; free parking.

Cala Torta
10km from Artá, signposted from the city hall onwards.
Idyllic natural beach. Warning: the water deepens rapidly – ideal for surfing! Small beach shack; no sun beds or umbrellas.

Es Trenc
Nature reserve with beautiful dunes. The beach stretches for miles between Colónia de Sant Jordi and Sa Rápita. Most scenic way to get there is through Ses Salines, along the salt hills. Paid parking; several beach restaurants.

Platja de Portals Nous
Behind the marina
Centrally located; popular with families because of the nearby Beach Alm (www.beach-alm.com) that allows you to enjoy a cocktail or meal while keeping an eye on the kids on the beach. Chill-out atmosphere and wonderful sunsets on the laid-back Ibizan style Roxy Beach opposite.

Platja de Sant Elm
Take the road at the junction before Port d'Andratx
Family beach; many good fish restaurants. Boats to Sa Dragonera island leave from here. The restaurant Cala Conills (www. calaconills.com) is an institution with beautiful sea views.

Portals Vells/Cala Vinyes
Access via Poniente Golf Course/Magalluf
3 separate sand beaches surrounded by rocks, with caves; ideal for snorkelling.The beach restaurant ensures a good view on your kids.
