Mallorca has a long wine tradition which has its origin in 123 bc when the island got integrated into the Roman Imperium. The export of wine was growing and Mallorca became one of the most important areas for wine production. Unfortunately, at the end of the 19th century, the filoxera, a little insect, destroyed almost all vineyards in Mallorca. It took 100 years until the wine production got important again. With the growing tourism, farmers started to cultivate the vineyards in Mallorca again and today, we are proud to have some of the best wines in Europe. Most bodegas are open for visit and wine tasting. Mallorquissmo presents the best vineyards in Mallorca.
